This weekend’s news from Cyprus has opened up another front on the assault against the current uptrend. The question before traders is now whether history will see today’s trading as just another  red candle in the broad sideways movement that began on 20 Febuary … Continue reading

Australia 200 – Weekly Outlook

At the close of trade last Thursday, most commentators were assuming that a correction was under way. By Friday afternoon giving the benefit of doubt to an established trend again seemed the safer strategy. Even so, Thursday’s 2.3% decline, on high volume could be an early warning of the … Continue reading

Australia 200 Index – 1,2,3

A strongly rising market presents two major problems for traders – one psychological, the other technical. Although we’ve all heard the saying “the trend is your friend” many times, getting on board when the market has already risen substantially is … Continue reading

Pairs for Performance

Professional investors watch the two largest sectors of the Australian share market very closely. Financial and Materials (largely miners) make up around two thirds of the value of all companies in the Australia 200 Index. The big picture view is … Continue reading

Australia 200 – reaches a key resistance but has “false break” potential

The Australia 200 index arrived at a well established resistance line today. A break through the top of this would look bullish but there is an interesting Fibonacci cluster zone just above this resistance. These situations can often provide Fibonacci traders with … Continue reading
